Denise Walusimbi
Psychotherapy
I wanted to take a moment to gently share some information with you. My hope is that this feels supportive, clear, and respectful of where you’re at. Please take your time reading through, and know that we can talk through any thoughts or questions together. My name is Denise Walusimbi, and I am a Registered Social Worker. I hold a Master of Social Work degree, along with a Bachelor of Social Work and a Social Service Worker diploma.
I provide counselling in a supportive and collaborative way, and I aim to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. In my work, I support individuals who may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or emotional and relationship challenges.
I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Narrative Therapy. My approach is trauma-informed, client-centered, and culturally responsive, meaning I will work with you at your pace, in a way that feels safe and meaningful for you. Reassuring, warm, empowering and collaborative care, that’s what I aim to provide.
My Journey Begins
Singing Turtle Counselling started from my passion for a holistic, patient-focused approach, creating a space where care and compassion meet.
